Clanton Police Chief - Brian Stilwell

Chief Brian A. Stilwell was appointed as the City of Clanton’s Police Chief in December of 2008. He has been in law enforcement since 1997 and is a 1998 graduate of the Montgomery Police Academy.

Chief Stilwell, a Michigan native, moved to Alabama in 1985. He attended Jefferson Davis High School in Montgomery, AL, Auburn University, Auburn University in Montgomery, Trenholm Technical College, the Alabama Fire College in Tuscaloosa, and is currently enrolled in an Certified Law Enforcement Executive program with Troy State Dothan, AL, Jacksonville State University, and the University of North Alabama.

Chief Stilwell holds numerous advanced certifications in the field of law enforcement. He conducts public speaking engagements in the areas of Team Building and Leadership. Chief Stilwell is married to Jennifer Horn Stilwell and is the father of 3 children. He has worked for the City of Tallassee Police Department, Clanton Police Department, Chilton County Sheriff’s Office, and was the former Chief at the City of Jemison, Alabama Police Department.
